I would give this 3.5 stars for a first story, but I will give you the 4 as opposed to the 3 ;)The premiss sounded interesting, and I love alternate reality/time travel stories and for .99 it was well worth it.
Matt Anderson is the likeable everyman trying to make the best of a weird situation. What would you do if you woke up one morning to an empty world?
This was a quick read, the pacing was good, and the events kept me reading. I think the beginning of the story was a bit over simplified in so far as the main characters attitude toward what had happened, and how he dealt with it emotionally, I feel he was a bit too melancholy and or nonchalant. I myself would have been going through a frantic freakout if my wife and kids were just, gone. Other than that the story was solid.
On a side note (to the author), while not egregious you could defiantly use an editor and or proofreader next time for the grammatical errors. Also don't be afraid to commit at least half the time, to time and or location. You did egregiously overuse the word "about", "about 7:00", "about a half mile from..." etc. At one point the word "about" turned up about every other sentence within about 8 sentences. Just as I am egregiously over using the word "egregious" (I love that word!) and the words "and or" in my review!
Nitpicking aside, I enjoyed your story and look forward to the next installment.

An interesting short story. Not very detailed and jumpy; could have had more depth to draw me in more. I do not think I would read another book from the author
There were some typo's, but it was overall a good story. I would like to read more of this writer.
This was a fun quick read. The premise allowed for just about anything to happen, so you never knew what to expect. An extended edition could delve into a wide array of subjects and action, and the lead character could be a little less "good," but this was still fun. There are some grammatical errors, but not so bad that it becomes unreadable.
I really enjoyed the concept of this story. Man "leaps" into another universe where he finds everyone is gone... or are they? The story details him trying to make his way in this person-free world. Maybe there are others like him, maybe he is not alone. Read the book to find out.
Certain issues were addressed that I found interesting. In a world with no bugs, would all the plants eventually die? The main character wonders about such things. I'm glad the author is willing to explore such details, it gives the reader a better sense of this strange alternate world.
I believe there is supposed to be a sequel coming out at some point. I intend to check it out. In the meantime, I suggest you read "Leap!"
